This festive season, step into the glamourous yet cutthroat world of legal drama and its entanglements with new to Mzansi Magic series Law, Love & Betrayal, coming on Sunday 21 December at 21:00 on Mzansi Magic.
Law, Love & Betrayal follows a young and tough township lawyer Gugu Mabaso played by Dineo Rasedile (her first leading role) who finds her way into a slick, family-owned law firm, Gumede & Associates, in Sandton. There, she discovers that beneath its polished exterior, the firm is a twisted maze of family secrets, lies, ruthless ambition, and betrayal.
As she navigates the environment, Gugu realises that like her, everyone has a hidden darkness that threatens to shatter trust within the firm. Driving the story is the show’s stellar cast including veteran TV presenter and actor Nimrod Nkosi (Utatakho, Isibaya, The Queen) as Gatsha, alongside SAFTA-winning presenter and actress Pearl Modiadie as Ayanda Gumede-Williams, Gatsha’s ambitious daughter. Other notable cast members include Anelisa Phewa as James Makaula and Siya Sipotokele as Thabo.
The 13-episode legal drama is created by executive producer Thandi Ramathesele, produced by Izwi Multimedia, and directed by Nthabiseng Tau (Youngins, Outlaws) and SAFTA winners Nthabiseng Mokoena (The Wife, Gomora) and Christo Davids (Spoorloos, Legacy).
Season 2 is coming in 2026, but before then, catch all the drama, secrets, heartbreak, and passion that started it all on season 1 of Law, Love & Betrayal on your home of local Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161).
