Episode 2 of Married At First Sight Mzansi brought emotional highs, eyebrow-raising drama, and plenty to debate around the dinner table. As the couples settled into their unions, Mzansi had a lot to say about our final couples. Here’s a recap of the moments that lit up our timeline:

Palesa and Tshepo steal hearts
This couple quickly became a fan favourite, with many viewers declaring them “the ones to beat” when it comes to long-term potential. Their emotional vows left not only their wedding guests teary-eyed but also touched the hearts of audiences at home. Fans praised Tshepo’s calm and mature energy, noting how well he complements Palesa’s  personality.

Praise for the experts
Viewers were impressed by how well the experts listened to Palesa’s preferences. Having previously stated that she wasn’t into “skinny men”, fans applauded the pairing with Tshepo, who ticked her boxes physically.

Nkululeko and Makoto’s initial chemistry
Though slightly overshadowed by the drama that followed, Nkululeko and Makoto’s first meeting sparked hope. Social media celebrated the mutual attraction and positive energy in their early interaction, with Nkululeko admitting he got more than he’d hoped for.

The first argument of the season

Makoto and Nkululeko got into an argument fuelled by his views on religion and submission, stating that his wife will need to be humble under his leadership, which led to Makoto's dramatic response and pushback. While Mzansi agreed Nkululeko may be doing too much, they felt her reaction may have been overly dramatic. The moment left viewers uncertain about whether this couple is truly compatible, with doubts surfacing about their long-term potential.
