In today’s King Pie Match the Taste Challenge, it was Mmeli who took the crown, walking away with a whopping R5 000 after proving he had the sharpest taste buds in the house. The challenge, designed to test both taste and quick thinking, kept all the housemates on their toes from start to finish.
The competition began with the first round of blindfolded taste tests, where housemates had to identify popular King Pie flavours without seeing what they were eating. Some guessed correctly and advanced, while others were eliminated from the round, heightening the stakes immediately. Didi, Buhle B, and Mashel impressed with their palate in this stage, correctly identifying the Cornish flavour.
The second round introduced a twist with King Pie’s gourmet range. Five domes, each hiding a different flavour, required the housemates to choose three numbers, taste the pies, and write down their guesses. Precision and memory were key, as only those who guessed correctly could continue.
The final round was a 48-piece block puzzle featuring the King Pie Taste of Comfort logo. Housemates raced to assemble the puzzle in the quickest time without making any errors or misplacing pieces. After tense moments and fierce competition, Mmeli completed his puzzle flawlessly, securing his victory.
Early in the day, the housemates gathered for diary sessions to unpack their feelings. Dube reflected on the shifting dynamics in the house, noting that fairness was being questioned and some housemates were emerging as underdogs. The Don shared that while he felt happy, he was observing the anxiety among first-time nominees and called out two-faced behaviour from some of the housemates.
The day’s King Pie challenge was a mixture of fun, strategy, and a test of both taste and wit, viewers commented on X.
