This week’s Head of House challenge tested both teamwork and individual skill. The competition began with the Elephant Formation, where housemates had to link arms in a single file, navigate a tricky course, and circle the trees without breaking the chain. The winning team then moved on to the Predatory Walk, a physically demanding individual challenge requiring housemates to zig-zag on all fours to collect animals, then return on two feet without knocking over cups.
The final showdown, the Banana Challenge, saw competitors blindfolded as they fished for real bananas from a box of mixed fruit and vegetables, earning points for precision. After a tense and nail-biting finish, Ashay claimed the HoH crown, securing immunity for the week. He selected Liema as his guest in the HoH loft.
Following the HoH challenge, the housemates faced live nominations, and tensions ran high as they nominated each other for possible eviction this Sunday. Here’s how the nominations played out:
Thandeka nominated Trixie, claiming she is constantly seeking apologies despite not making an effort herself, even saying she never wrote her a letter. She also felt Trixie was interfering in her friendship with Bravo B. Her second nomination was Didi, whom she accused of being in her business and pursuing Mmeli. Lastly, she nominated Liema, stating that although they have never fought, Liema involves herself in her affairs.
Trixie nominated Thandeka, saying “it is what it is”, and accused her of being evil, narcissistic and disrespectful, even referencing comments Thandeka had made about her own mother being a narcissist. She also nominated Mmeli, admitting she had no solid reason, but mentioned a “bumper sticker” incident and added that Mmeli enables Thandeka’s behaviour.
Ashay nominated Mmeli and Que, explaining that at top 10 stage, strong players must target strong players – game recognises game.
Liema put up Thandeka, openly admitting she does not like her and questioning why she is still in the house, adding she would rather see her outside. She also nominated Mmeli, calling him strong competition and a threat to her chances of winning the R2 million.
Bravo B nominated King Wanda and The Don, saying the game has shifted and it is now time to fight for survival.
King Wanda nominated Thandeka, describing her as mean and a bully who has made his stay unbearable, adding that he once had hope in her but has been disappointed. He also nominated Mmeli, stating they do not share a friendship.
Que nominated Bravo B and The Don, arguing that both are well-liked in the house and putting them up would shake things up.
Didi nominated Thandeka, saying she cannot live with her in the same house, and Mmeli, explaining that she believes he mirrors Thandeka’s behaviour and that a genuinely kind person would not align with mean people.
The Don also nominated Thandeka, claiming many housemates complain about her and accusing her of bullying his friend. He nominated Mmeli as well, criticising him for allowing Thandeka’s actions and laughing during her confrontation with King Wanda, saying he does not understand their dynamic.
Mmeli nominated The Don, noting that he had not been up for eviction recently, and Liema, whom he considers strong competition.
As a result, the following housemates are now up for possible eviction: Bravo B, Didi, King Wanda, Liema, Mmeli, Que, The Don, Thandeka, and Trixie.
