It’s been a whirlwind of a season, full of challenges and equal amounts of lessons that encouraged everyone involved to look at life differently.

Family comes first

Every family has its own share of tribulations, and it was no different for the Mselekus; but they always show up for each other at the end of it all. The perfect representation of that would be the thanksgiving ceremony that all the wives showed up for despite their feelings. The moment we saw Abongwe create a safe space for her father to be vulnerable and then delivering a heart-warming speech at his birthday was also special.

Health is wealth

Mseleku’s health scare crept up on everyone and left them trying to find comfort in each other. The first stroke was bad but suffering the second one sent his family to their knees, praying for his life. Making it to the other side after this scary time has been a blessing that no one takes for granted.

Treasure the people you love

The one issue that often arises when Mseleku’s wives speak about him is his inability to show appreciation and respect for them. Their love and family structure has never been the same since they all gathered at the table to watch their husband’s diary sessions because now his words still linger in their minds. All they ask for to be happy and peaceful, is to be valued and respected in every situation.

A little fun never hurt anybody

As the last two episodes showed, fun has proven to be the medicine that one needs to heal some broken parts and restore the family’s warmth. A day filled with games and a bonfire to close off the night during the Mselekus’ annual trip was exactly what the doctor ordered.

It has been a rough journey, but everyone is still holding on for the ride.
