After weeks of strategising and intense gameplay, the record-breaking season 6 of Big Brother Mzansi Bazozwa ended on a high on Sunday, 22 March, when Liema was crowned as the grand prize winner of R2-million!
Over and above the R2-million grand prize, Liema wins over R3 000 in cash prizes collected from the various weekly sponsorship challenges in the house. Of the total votes cast Liema received 33.84%, Thandeka 29.97% and Bravo B 14.90%.
In this tightly contested finale, Thandeka was voted as the season’s runner-up securing second place, after an equally challenging Bazozwa journey that resonated strongly with viewers and fans across Mzansi. From the beginning, Big Brother Mzansi season 6 promised nothing but high stakes courtesy of the housemates who came in determined to leave a lasting mark on Mzansi audiences and for some, to be given a second chance.
Redemption was an important part of the season, with four housemates from previous seasons re-entering the game with the hope of pursuing and achieving a different outcome on the Bazozwa season. It was clear that the returnees sought to rewrite their story and show their growth.
With millions of votes cast, record-breaking digital engagement and a fiercely competitive Top 6, Bazozwa will go down as one of the most iconic seasons in the show’s history. This season did not just win viewers’ hearts and likes, it also dominated consistently across all social media platforms with over 5.5 million YouTube views, leading on TikTok, Facebook and X, far surpassing previous seasons and setting new benchmarks.
By Week 8, Bazozwa season had already surpassed the total performance of season 5 across key digital metrics, including votes, engagement and video views, a clear testament to the show’s growing impact. This exceptional performance was further enhanced by the organic fan-driven content which rallied fans across Mzansi, further amplifying participation and overall social interest and traction throughout the season.
