Thembi Seete first became a public figure as part of the iconic kwaito group, Boom Shaka in the 90s – a group that still sees significant airplay almost thirty years later. Going solo in 2001, Seete’s “Lollipop” cemented her position in the industry, and she continues to release music, although on a slightly decelerated schedule.
This is not because she’s resting on her laurels. Instead, she has branched out into acting and radio – although this is not a particularly new development. Her TV career dates from when she was seen in YizoYizo and Zone 14. Currently, she’s best known for portraying the role of Gladys in the smash hit telenovela, Gomora.
With three decades in the entertainment industry, Seete should have more than enough nuggets of wisdom to help aspiring idols make the most of their time on the show.
