Faces lit up with excitement when the couples received invitations to their first retreat.. While everyone continued to enjoy their time as much as they could, tensions were still running high from games’ night and the last dinner only added fuel to the fire. Nkululeko kicked the night off by asking them all to share their take aways from this experiment so far.

The retreat was a ball of emotions, but everyone left better than they came in.

Nelisa

Our favourite gone girl started things off by expressing how love can be the oomph that one needs in life. “I’m finding myself being a whole new Nelisa and I’m loving it,” she declared.

Makoto

The most interesting thing she has learnt is that she can really stand up for herself and no longer needs to rally her friends to fight her battles. Going to war alone is now small waters for Makoto, she says.

Tshepo

Big man T’s spirits were low the whole time so naturally he touched on that because he is not in a good place with Palesa. He was straightforward and said it how it is, “It’s okay to fail and it’s okay to start again”.

Nkululeko

His disappointment with the wife that he received was a bother, but he takes away the

fact that it’s okay to work with what you have. He concluded that the experiment has been an opportunity to also work on himself.

Portia

In a shocking but beautiful turn of events, Portia has become a woman that now sees Bongani as her king. She admitted that at first she was ready to leave but now we are here. “The way he looks at me, the way he talks to me, the way he treats me, that is the man I’ve been praying for.”
