What is the Shaka iLembe Watch Party?
This is a competition to reward 5 DStv Compact customers with a Shaka iLembe viewing experience. To be eligible for the competition, customers must: pay on time, reconnect or sign up to a new DStv Compact package during the competition period.
Who is eligible for the competition?
All customers who make a full payment for their DStv Compact services between 2 May to 31 July 2025 will stand a chance to win 1 of 5 Shaka iLembe Watch Party experiences. Customers' DStv Compact package and DStv rewards need to be active as at the time of the draw. Customers with Residential accounts are eligible to enter.
How do I enter?
DStv Compact customers who make full payment for their services between 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025 must join DStv Rewards to be eligible. Existing DStv Rewards customers ae eligible to enter the competition as well. Customers must SMS “Shaka” to 31062 to be fully entered in the draw. The winners will be contacted from 4 June 2025.

How long will the competition run?
The competition will run from 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025. This period refers to when customers can make a payment and reconnect their services or sign up a new DStv service.
Who is NOT eligible for the competition?
All customers who do not make full payment for their DStv Compact services between 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025 will not be eligible for the competition. Customers who are not on DStv Compact package are not eligible for this competition. DStv Business, VIP, Employee, and other account types are not eligible for this competition.
How many times can I enter the competition?
Customers may enter the competition each time they make a payment for their full month of DStv Compact subscription. Customers will multiple DStv Compact subscriptions will have the same number of entries as the number of DStv Compact subscriptions on their account.
What does the prize include?
The Shaka iLembe Watch Party prize includes;
- An exclusive Shaka iLembe Watch Party
- Winners must invite 10 of their friends or family members
- Catering will be made available to you and your 10 guests
- All travel costs from, and to, the venue will be covered by DStv
- Two of the Shaka iLembe stars will be invited to join the Shaka iLembe Watch Party
How will I know if I’ve won / How will I be notified?
Winners will be notified by MultiChoice via phone call starting from 4 June 2025 to 6 August 2025. Winners will need to claim their prize on the DStv Rewards platform.
Why do you need my customer number or SA ID number?
- Your customer number and 13 digital ID number allows us to validate you as a DStv customer.
- Note that you can also use your valid passport number if you used it when signing up for your DStv account.

Can I exchange my prize for cash?
The Shaka iLembe Watch Party cannot be exchanged for cash.
Is my prize transferable?
No, unfortunately not.
Competition terms and conditions for Shaka iLembe Watch Party
- The Shaka iLembe watch party competition is available to all active DStv Compact Customers who pay for their account in full between 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025. This includes any existing DStv Compact customers who reconnect, sign-up for a new package or make a payment to keep their services active.
- Customers stand to win 1 of 5 exclusive Shaka iLembe Watch Party experiences with 10 of their friends, or family members.
- The Shaka iLembe Watch Party competition is available to DStv Compact customers with a decoder and/or streaming subscription. Customers must be existing DStv Rewards customers, or sign up to DStv Rewards.
- The Shaka iLembe Watch Party prize includes;
- An exclusive Shaka iLembe Watch Party
- Winners must invite 10 of their friends or family members
- Food and beverages will be made available for you and your 10 guests
- All travel costs from, and to, the venue will be covered by DStv
- Two of the Shaka iLembe stars will be invited to join the Shaka iLembe Watch Party
- A gift bag will be given to each winner as well as each winner’s guests
- Customers who make a full payment between 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025 and are active DStv Rewards will be eligible to enter the competition. Customers must be an active DStv Rewards customer to be fully eligible for competition entry.
- To enter the competition, customers must make a full payment into their account. Once the full payment has been made, customers must SMS “Shaka” to 31062 to be entered into the competition.
- Qualifying customers will be entered into a draw and 5 winners will be randomly selected to win the Shaka iLembe Watch Party experience. There will be 5 draws that take place. The dates for the draws are;
- Wednesday 04 June 2025 at 12:00pm
- Wednesday 18 June 2025 at 12:00pm
- Wednesday 02 July 2025 at 12:00pm
- Wednesday 16 July 2025 at 12:00pm
- Friday 06 August 2025 at 12:00pm
- Customers may enter the competition more than once, provided that each competition entry is made with a full months’ worth of DStv Compact subscription.
For example, if “Customer A” has 1 DStv Compact subscription, then “Customer A” will only get 1 entry into the competition. However, “Customer A” may enter the competition again each time “Customer A” makes a payment for their full DStv Compact services for a new month.
- Customers with multiple DStv Compact subscriptions who pay for, and enter, the competition will increase their entries with each DStv Compact subscription they pay for.
For example, if “Customer B” has 3 active DStv Compact subscriptions and “Customer B” pays for all 3, then “Customer B” will get 3 entries into the competition.
- Customers will not be eligible for the competition, should they disconnect, or cancel, their subscription prior to the date of each draw.
- Only active DStv Compact customers, who are active on DStv Rewards, as at the date, and time, of the draw will be included in each draw.
- Winners will be called using the mobile numbers registered on their DStv account. Winners must ensure that their contact details are updated on their DStv accounts. Winners will need to claim their prize on the DStv Rewards platform.
- The competition period is from 2 May 2025 to 31 July 2025. Customers who don’t pay their account in full, within the competition period, will not be eligible to enter the competition.
- The Shaka iLembe Watch Party competition cannot be transferred to another customer. The account holder is the only individual who may accept the prize.
- These Rules are in addition to Terms and Conditions governing subscription to the MultiChoice Service (available on multichoice.com).
- The Shaka iLembe Watch Party competition is only available to qualifying residential customers in SA.
